FabianThe Philips Hue Perifo track system was released in 2022 and was a real problem solver for me. After all, I was able to erase a shadow directly on the worktop in the kitchen. It was very helpful for me that Philips Hue not only offers a classic 230 volt power supply on the ceiling, but also an external power supply unit with plug. Originally intended for wall installations, it also works wonderfully on the ceiling in my kitchen.
I now have rail systems from three different manufacturers in my home. The no-name product is absolutely not comparable in terms of quality, whereas the URail system from Paulmann is a real alternative. I also have a direct comparison between Paulmann URail and Philips Hue Perifo for you. Philips Hue scores particularly well in terms of brightness, where it clearly has the edge.
Light sources and accessories already available for Philips Hue Perifo
In addition to tracks in different lengths, the following accessories are currently available for Philips Hue Perifo
- 100 watt power supply unit with two outputs
- 100 watt power supply unit with one output
- 100 watt power supply unit with plug
- Extension cable and canopy
- Straight plug connector
- Corner connection inside and outside
The selection of light sources is not much larger, but with the available resources you can cover quite a few applications. Everything is available here:

- Linear Lightbar
- Gradient Light Tube (small/large)
All this is still missing from the Philips Hue Perifo track system
However, the Perifo system is still missing one or two components to allow more elaborate installations. At the top of my wish list is a T-piece to be able to extend the track at a 90 degree angle in two directions. A wall-to-ceiling adapter would also be a useful addition to the existing portfolio.
There is one thing that Philips Hue is still completely lacking: a proper configurator with which the track system can be conveniently customised and then ordered. Such a configurator is available from Paulmann – and it is extremely useful.
As far as the light sources are concerned, I don't have any great wishes. A spherical luminaire would certainly be great, with which a slightly different look would be possible. Perhaps you have other wishes for the Perifo track system – please write them in the comments.
