Once again, there is a new update for the Philips Hue app. Version 5.20 has been skipped, instead you can now download version 5.21 from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. I will be presenting some of the new functions to you in detail in the coming days, but today there is a brief overview of the new features.
Included in the update description are the seven new Race Day scenes, which were created on the occasion of the cooperation between Signify and the Mercedes Formula 1 team. I already presented the scenes to you in a separate article on Monday.
There is also another addition to the Hue light scene gallery. There is a new “Daily” category with six new scenes. These are the new scenes that have been specially developed for the Hue Twilight bedside lamp. Now you can also use them easily with other light sources.
The other new features in Philips Hue 5.21
Hue Secure: You can now take a snapshot of your live view and save it to your device’s photo library using the download icon.
Home: You can now hide a Room or Zone: tap the three dots icon (…), tap Edit, select one or more Rooms or Zones, and then tap Hide. To show them, select the Room or Zone and tap Unhide.
One-touch automations: Added support for Tap dial switch, wall switch module, Tap, and Friends of Hue switches to trigger a Go to sleep automation. More switches to come! To try it out, go to Settings > Accessories and select your switch, and then tap Button controls… and select Automations.
