You’ve already heard about it: Signify, the manufacturer of Philips Hue, has joined the Mercedes Formula 1 team as a sponsor. The first race weekend in Silverstone went straight to plan: after a long dry spell, Lewis Hamilton took his first win in over two years at his home race of all places.
If you’re a big Formula 1 fan, you can now find scenes with the theme “Race Day” in the Hue light scenes gallery in the Philips Hue app. The following seven scenes await you:
- Silverstone
- Zandvoort
- Singapore
- Sao Paulo
- Miami
- Suzuka
- Bahrain
The scenes are based on the corresponding racetracks. The Sao Paulo scene, for example, uses quite a lot of turquoise because the run-off areas there are coloured accordingly. This is joined by green, yellow and white, the colours of the kerbs on the Interlagos circuit.
Formula 1 still has the two races in Hungary and Belgium coming up this month, after which there will be a short summer break. After that, the action continues with the Dutch Grand Prix, Signify’s “home race”. It is just 153 kilometres by car from the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven to the Circuit Park in Zandvoort.
