Unfortunately, there was no news about Hue Secure at today’s product launch, at least as far as the hardware is concerned. No new devices were presented for the security system, which was launched last autumn.
However, the manufacturer today presented a number of new functions relating to the software behind Hue Secure, which are to be made available in the second half of 2024. What exactly will be happening with Hue Secure?
There will finally be an option to set light and sound alarms, which will then be triggered automatically in the event of suspicious behaviour. Until now, you received a push notification when motion was detected, had to open the app and activate the alarm manually. Of course, this is not particularly smart.
Other innovations relating to Hue Secure include the ability to create customised schedules according to which the system is automatically switched on and off. You will also be able to choose between three different battery optimisation modes for the wireless camera.
The next chance to see new hardware will probably be around the IFA in Berlin, which will take place at the beginning of September. If I discover anything, you will of course be informed immediately.
