FabianToday, the Philips Hue Perifo track system is officially launched. In the official Philips Hue online shop, numerous bundles are already listed, but you can’t order the Perifo sets and individual parts yet. Other retailers, such as Click-Licht.de, promise availability only in about four weeks.
However, I did discover one interesting detail: The ceiling power supply of the Perifo track system has a small cap on the side that can be easily removed if you want to disconnect the power supply “externally”. This is practical for all those cases in which the Perifo power supply cannot or should not be mounted directly above the ceiling connection.
In principle, you can insert any cable from the outside, but Philips Hue also offers its own extension cable with an electrical box cover. It is already listed in the online shop, but the price will be 49.99 euros. Quite expensive fun, in my opinion. Philips Hue lets us know about the accessories:
More flexibility when installing your Hue Perifo track lighting: this mounting kit includes a base that is wired to the control box and ensures that it is not visible. The included fabric cable then connects to and is held by a Hue Perifo power supply up to 1 metre away.
