Somewhat surprisingly, a new wall light has appeared in the Philips Hue online shop today. According to the manufacturer, the new Hue Dymera is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and will be available “soon” for a price of 219.99 euros. I summarise all the other details for you in this article.
“Made to be used indoors or outside, the Dymera wall light’s individually controllable lights shine any of millions of colors both up and down on any wall. Functional and stylish, this light’s subtle design blends into the surrounding decor, bringing an element of sophistication to any space in your home – inside or out,” says the manufacturer.
The new Philips Hue Dymera has IP44 protection and is only available with a black housing. It measures 9.4 x 23 x 16 centimetres and offers a maximum brightness of 1,020 lumens at 4,000 Kelvin. With standard white, however, the brightness is only slightly lower at up to 970 lumens. In addition to 16 million colours, white tones from 2,000 to 6,500 Kelvin are possible, so nothing unusual so far.
One thing is quite interesting: the new Philips Hue Dymera can shine in a different colour at the top and bottom. The two light sources in the wall light can be controlled independently of each other. For me, this is definitely a reason to take a closer look at the Hue Dymera in the near future.

The price is ridiculous, the light is SUPER small, barely lights up any space, it’s an accent light.
The use for both top/bottom as the Ensis pendant light, is also just a gimmick. It’s not a marvel of technology or an inovation for Signify, they have the Ensis for ages now.
Just baffled at the price point.
