Smart lighting: Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagons are getting triangular siblings

Shapes Triangles and Mini Triangles officially introduced

Here in the blog I love to talk about Philips Hue, of course, but there are some lighting ideas that are difficult to realize with ZigBee. The LED panels from Nanoleaf, which have been with me for several years now, are definitely one of them.

Starting with the Nanoleaf Aurora, which is now called Nanoleaf Light Panels, to the square Nanoleaf Canvas and the Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagons, which were launched in summer 2020. And it is precisely these hexagons that now play an important role.

Nanoleaf has not only launched a couple of new products on the market, but has expanded the Shapes series. In addition to the hexagons, there are now also Triangles and Mini Triangles, i.e. large and small triangles. These can be combined wonderfully with the hexagons, so that even more unusual designs are possible.

Of course, the different shapes can also be used on their own and do not have to mix them up. As a user you really have all possibilities here, there are hardly any limits to your creativity. Theoretically, several hundred LED panels can be operated on one controller, in which case several power supplies are required.

Unfortunately, the Nanoleaf shapes are not directly compatible with Philips Hue, but shared control is no problem. This can be done by simply creating shared scenes via Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or Apple HomeKit to control Philips Hue lamps together with Nanoleaf LED panels.

For Apple users, however, the whole story goes one step further: each triangle and hexagon also functions as a HomeKit switch if desired. For example, a touch on an LED panel could be used to switch a Philips Hue lamp on or off if it is also integrated in HomeKit.

Our vision for the Shapes range is complete design freedom, allowing users to create their most individual lighting experience. Intelligent lighting is about pushing the boundaries of what is possible. This is exactly what we want to make possible with our Shapes range. With the addition of the new Shapes Triangles and Mini Triangles, users can explore and combine our lights more creatively than ever before. Combining intelligent technology and thoughtful design, the Nanoleaf Shapes range is the market leader in the Smart Decor category, providing a lighting experience that truly knows no bounds.
