Shortly after Christmas we introduced the SM216, the new adapter from Samotech for the Hue Smart Button. In the comments to the article some users remarked that solutions for 2 or 3 frames would be a practical thing, too. Of course the British manufacturer has something like this in stock: the brand-new SM222.
The new cover frame from Samotech can be mounted on any conventional standard light switch with a metal bracket – without having to remove the light switch completely. Especially for rented apartments or technically less experienced users, this is an easy way to avoid unintentional operation of the light switch.
After removing the existing rockers and the double frame from the light switch, the SM222 can easily be fixed to the wall with the existing screws. Through the adapter you can continue to operate the light switches and still easily click the mounting plate of the Philips Hue dimmer switch onto the frame – one on top and one on bottom.
Whether this double dimmer switch suits your taste is of course up to you. In a few weeks you should be able to order the Samotech SM222 without any problems. If you don’t want to wait that long, you can already find it for 9.99 Euro plus shipping costs on the manufacturer’s website.
