At least Philips Hue has a small update today. According to the update description, you can look forward to seven new scenes in the Hue light scenes gallery, of which only four are actually new. Miami, Cancun and Rio have already been available for a few weeks. Newly added are the scenes Blossom, Crocus, Precious and Narcissa in the “Refreshing” area.
Beeping Philips Hue products are a rarity, but with the sheer number of products sold, it is noticeable. Recently, it was mainly the Play Lightbars that caused problems. Already a few weeks ago, Philips Hue admitted to this error, which can cause a beeping sound with the Play Lightbars, especially with very bright light settings.

I could have saved myself the effort, because with the update to version 4.16 Philips Hue seems to offer new possibilities. This new option is hidden in the settings of the Philips Hue app.
Yesterday evening Philips Hue released another update of its official app, the update description reads more than sober: “Bug fixes and performance improvements”, it says in the App Store. But beyond that, there are some new things to discover. There are some new scenes – and finally a flamingo in the Hue app.
A few weeks ago I already announced it, but there were probably some minor delays in the development. With today’s release of Philips Hue 4.13, the previous Bluetooth app becomes superfluous – because a corresponding support has now been integrated into the “main” app. However, the development team states the following in the update notes: “New Philips Hue users can now use the Hue app to control their Bluetooth setup.
I already announced it on Monday, now it has happened sooner than expected: Philips Hue 4.12 is now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. In addition to the already announced effects Fireplace and Candle, the new version also brings six new, especially romantic scenes for Valentine’s Day.
Last week, Stefan Göhler, the developer of iConnectHue, came forward: He has integrated the fireplace and the candle effect into his application. The two effects were already officially announced by Philips Hue in a press release in January. At that time they wrote: In the first quarter of 2022, new effects will also be added to the Philips Hue app.
Just under a fortnight ago, Philips Hue announced that two new effects would be making their way into the Hue app by the end of March: A candle flicker and a fireplace effect. These two effects are available more quickly with the popular iConnectHue app. The developer Stefan Göhler is providing a corresponding update with immediate effect.
