Philips Hue Slim Recessed Light Clearance Sale Has Begun

Is a New Generation on the Way?

Note: Article contains affiliate links. What’s that?

Philips Hue launched the Hue Slim recessed light just under two years ago. Available in two different sizes, the product now appears to be disappearing from the market again. Philips Hue has drastically reduced prices in its online store. This applies not only to Germany but also to other European countries.

The Hue Slim recessed light is available in two different sizes, each with a black or white frame. The 90-millimeter version produces 1,000 lumens and normally costs 89.99 euros, but is currently reduced to just 53.99 euros in Germany. That represents a 40 percent discount.

Even brighter, larger, and more expensive is the Hue Slim recessed light with a diameter of 170 millimeters. It produces up to 1,500 lumens and normally costs 109.99 euros. It is currently on sale for 65.99 euros, which is also 40 percent off.

What’s happening to this not-so-old Hue product?

Compared to some other products, such as the truly older models like the Hue Calla or Hue Lily, the Hue Slim recessed light is still relatively new. According to my information, it won’t be disappearing from the Philips Hue portfolio, but will simply be replaced by a new generation.

However, major changes to the design or technical specifications aren’t expected. I simply expect that a new wireless chip with support for Matter over Thread will be built in. June or September are possible launch dates, as Philips Hue usually releases new products around that time.

If you’re already using a Hue Bridge or Hue Bridge Pro, this really isn’t relevant to you—so you can take advantage of the lower prices during the current sale.

Over the last few years, I've become a real expert when it comes to Hue & HomeKit. I now have over 50 lamps and numerous switches in use. I'm happy to share my experiences with you in my little blog.

  1. Could you please include a photo of the back of the product showing the model number and the 12NC code clearly in all your new product posts?

That lets me search all Amazon sites at once xD… and it ends up being good for you too, because when people search for the code, your page comes up 😛
