Hueblog: Improvement for dynamic scenes and gradient products

Improvement for dynamic scenes and gradient products

This is new in Philips Hue 4.32

Just before Christmas, Philips Hue probably didn’t dare to release the big new feature “Natural Light”. Nevertheless, there is an update – and there are actually some useful functions.

If you have a Gradient Lightstrip or another Gradient light source, such as the Signe, in use, you can now also use the mirrored mode known from the Festavia light chain. The “Diffuse” mode is still only available for the light chain and this should not change. You can see how to activate the mirrored mode on the following screenshot:

I was also already able to announce the improvement for the dynamic scenes. If a scene contains coloured lights as well as coloured lamps with a white tone, the latter will no longer change their colour, but will keep the set white tone.

These are all changes of Philips Hue 4.32 at a glance

  • Nutcracker, Jolly, and Snow sparkle have joined our other Holiday scenes in the Hue scene gallery — and were specially made to make this season more magical than ever.
  • Dynamic scenes just got even smarter! When you edit a scene and set a light to a shade of warm-to-cool white, that light will be excluded from the dynamic scene.
  • You can now use the Mirror style on gradient lights, which makes either end of the light identical with a gradient of color in the middle. Tap a light card in a Room or Zone, and then tap on the style icon next to the brightness slider.
