In social networks and also in comments here on the blog, I have stumbled across an issue again and again in recent months: Android smartphone users report that they can no longer find the Philips Hue app in the Google Play Store. Today I would like to explain to you what is causing this problem.
When it comes to apps around Philips Hue, apart from the official app, we mainly think of apps like iConnectHue or Hue Essentials. How about a new release for a change? Hue Engage is now available in the Google Play Store. Hue Engage comes from Daniel Meyer, a developer from Switzerland.
A small warning to Android users: The Philips Hue app is currently not available in the Google Play Store. So if you want to reinstall the app, you currently have bad cards – the previous download link leads to an error message. I've already knocked on Signify's door to find out why the app is currently unavailable.
If you're a diligent reader, you'll have heard from us that Signify is working on a new Philips Hue App. And as of today, version 4.0 of the Hue App is available, bringing with it numerous new features.
