Hueblog: iConnectHue already offers the candle and fireplace effect

iConnectHue already offers the candle and fireplace effect

Faster than Philips Hue

Just under a fortnight ago, Philips Hue announced that two new effects would be making their way into the Hue app by the end of March: A candle flicker and a fireplace effect. These two effects are available more quickly with the popular iConnectHue app. The developer Stefan Göhler is providing a corresponding update with immediate effect.

Unfortunately, the function is not required for all users of iConnectHue. The developer informs that at least an active membership, the 2021 in-app purchase or the purchase of the app after February 2021 is necessary to be able to use the two new effects.

It’s cold out there and you’re missing just the right mood? Use candle and fire effects! Even before the official Hue app, we support these new effects of your lights. You can access them in your light’s colour selection, top right (only there if supported). Once enabled, you can drag & drop the effects to other lights in your room!

The candle effect works with all lights, the name fire effect requires colour lamps. By the way, the effects look particularly good on gradient products.

Further innovations in iConnectHue 4.10

  • You can now use slow transitions on Gradient lights with timers, for switches and for instant timers.
  • We now support group-on alternations on Hue Dimmer switches. For you to have even more possibilities for your devices!
