Last November, Philips Hue surprised us at the last minute with the Festavia string lights. Just before Christmas, the small colourful LEDs for the Christmas tree went on sale – and were completely sold out within a few days. This status has not changed so far.
However, there is a surprising announcement from Switzerland: There, the Festavia is currently available again in the official online shop of Philips Hue and is even sold with a discount of 10 percent for the first time. Apparently, these are remaining stocks that still have to be sold before the “second” generation starts.
Festavia product page partly no longer accessible
In some countries, preparations for the re-launch have already begun. After it was indicated in the past months that the chain of lights will return in 2023, the shut down product pages in some countries such as Germany, Austria, Great Britain or the USA have now even been completely deleted.

The next Festavia string lights will receive a new certification and thus also a new product number. According to my current knowledge, I assume that this entry at the FCC is the Hue Festavia.
An interesting observation here is that not just one, but three model numbers were tested and approved this year. It would therefore not surprise me if the Festavia string lights will return in three different variants – possibly lengths.

I wonder if the relaunch could see them being approved for outdoor use. I would certainly buy a set and use indoors at Christmas and outdoors in the summer.
They should be ready for outdoor use.
