In my opinion, the Hue Wall Switch Module is one of the best extensions for the Hue system. It not only solves the light switch problem, but can also be configured individually. In our (german) community there is a rather exciting question about this, which I would like to take care of for you today.
However, I do have one question about the wall switch modules. I have configured them so that I can switch several scenes with the module (by pressing the wall switch several times). However, I have to press the switch an additional time between the individual scenes, so I have to press the switch three times for the second scene. Is there no other way?
The solution via hardware
There are two solutions to this problem. First, the switch can be replaced by a push-button. After a reset, you simply select the button configuration and then only have to press the button twice for the second scene. If you press the button again after a pause, the light switches off again.
In addition, you benefit from an additional function when replacing the hardware: Similar to the Hue Smart Button, you can also dim the light and increase the brightness with the Hue Wall Switch Module if you press the button for a long time.
The solution via software
If for whatever reason you don’t want to replace your switches with push buttons, you can also configure your Hue Wall Switch Module with iConnectHue.
Here you can specify either via the wizard or via a manual configuration that the wall switch module should switch between scenes every time you press the switch. After a pause of ten seconds, the switched-on light can be switched off again. A little tip if you want things to go faster: After the scenes, simply set another switch-off command as the last action.
