FabianPhilips Hue just can't manage to keep its products a secret until the actual release. Today, three new light bulbs have appeared on Amazon that go by the name of Philips Hue Lightguide. And what can I say? No Philips Hue light bulbs have ever been so beautiful.
At the start, there will be three different versions, and two more models will probably follow later. They all have one thing in common: inside the glass body there is a light bulb that is equipped with White and Color Ambiance technology. This means that you can not only set white tones, but also colours. The maximum brightness is given as 500 lumens at 2,700 Kelvin.
And this is what Philips Hue itself writes about its new Lightguide lamps:
Philips Hue Lightguide LED bulbs give off a bright, brilliantly coloured light that you can dim to the perfect level in millions of shades of colour and white to create the right mood in any room of your home. Philips Hue Lightguide LED bulbs feature a distinctive inner tube and a reflective, glossy finish that gives them a special light.
The prices, however, are quite something, even though they may not be the final prices on Amazon yet. They start at 75 euros, one model is even more expensive. This will probably make them the most expensive E27 lamps that Philips Hue currently has in stock.

The three Lightguide lamps will probably be joined in September by the new E14 candle lamps and the Play Gradient Light Strip for the PC.

They look like glowsticks in glass. Perfect I guess for parties where you sync the lights to music. Have a rave in your own house!
I’ve sworn off all Hue until they’re available with high PWM frequency. I had to give my Hue lights to family members because the 1khz flicker from Pulse Width Modulation makes me feel sick.
