A visit to Ikea is worth it twice this month. Next week there will be a new Sonos speaker and four new light bulbs from the Trådfri series are already available. Today I would like to take a look at the new ZigBee lamps with frosted glass. In my opinion, these are a real eye-catcher.
Of course, in the end it is always a question of personal taste and certainly depends on whether you have a suitable ceiling, floor or table lamp in which the lamps are shown off to their best advantage. For example, I like the following picture, which by the way comes from the Ikea gallery.
The new smart lamp with frosted glass is available in two different shapes: Round and tube shaped. There is no difference in the price and the technical data. Both models cost 12.99 euros and offer a maximum brightness of 470 lumens. The colour temperature of both models can be adjusted from 2,200 to 4,000 Kelvin.
First of all, however, the Trådfri bulbs have to be paired with the Hue Bridge, which worked for me without any problems – I only had to switch the bulb on and off six times so that it resets and is ready for pairing. As usual, there is the restriction that the lamps are not passed to HomeKit via the Hue Bridge.
What I really liked: The frosted glass lamps are absolutely evenly illuminated. It makes it seem as if the entire glass body is lit. It’s really chic.
If you like the style and have no problem pairing third-party accessories with your Hue Bridge, then these two new models with E27 bases are definitely a recommendation for you. You can get them either directly at your nearest Ikea or in the online shop of the Swedish furniture shop.
