The new Philips Hue wall switch module, which will be available in Europe in the spring and in the USA in the summer, has been the subject of much discussion over the past two weeks. One thing is clear: with the module, you will be able to make every light switch smart in order to control Philips Hue lamps.
In my opinion, this is a very good solution and exactly what was still missing in the Hue world. There are already ZigBee-compatible in-wall modules from other manufacturers that can be used to make “dumb” lamps smart. The fact that the classic light switch itself becomes smart is something that Philips Hue has not yet done.
There was also criticism for the battery, which is supposed to last at least five years. Some users would have preferred a fixed wiring in the flush-mounted box. But at the end of the day, is this really a reason not to buy the module?
Or is it ultimately the price that deters? 40 euros for a Hue wall switch module and 70 euros for a double pack, those will be the prices as soon as the new accessories are sold exclusively on Philips-Hue.com. Anyway, I’m curious to see what you think about it and vote in the poll.
In addition to the vote, you also have the chance to leave a comment. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think!

Hello Fabian, your blog is brilliant. Thanks a lot for your efforts.
Regarding the wall module, I still think the Bosch smart light switch is a better option as you don’t need to replace batteries and also costs the same when you buy them on sale. I use the Bosch shutter control switch with homekit and its brilliant. So I am planning to replace some of my light switches with the Bosch switch in future. Thanks again for your amazing articles. Have a good day.
