Already in August I could report that Philips Hue is planning a new edition of the Iris. Mood lighting is one of the real long-running favourites and was already a LivingColors product almost 10 years ago, and has been part of the Hue family for several years. With the update announced today, there is not only improved performance, but also new designs.
While the previous Philips Hue Iris was only a Color Ambiance model without cold white and warm white LEDs and the maximum brightness was only 210 lumens, the new generation of Philips Hue Iris has been spruced up properly. You not only get a White and Color Ambiance lamp with true white tones, but also an increased brightness of up to 570 lumens.
Philips Hue Iris will also be available as Limited Edition
But that is not all. In addition to the 99.99 Euro standard model of the Hue Iris in black or white, there will also be a Limited Edition, which will only be sold for a limited period of time at selected dealers. The Philips Hue Iris Limited Edition will be available in copper, rosé, silver and gold. So far I have only seen the Limited Edition on product photos, but I have to confess: It looks pretty good.
The Limited Edition will also come in a color-matched package, although that might be less interesting. But what I find more exciting is that even the built-in power cable is color-matched. For the special design a small surcharge is due, the Limited Edition will be available for a retail price of 119.99 Euro. All new iris models will be available in stores from October 6.
