I have already installed the new Philips Hue Aurelle and would like to inform about my experiences. How difficult is the installation? What needs to be considered? In this article you get a detailed impression.
It all starts without any spectacular insights. The LED panel is packed in a cardboard box and is simply pushed out sideways. Two soft foam ends ensure the lamp’s security. Also to be found in the package is the usual instruction manual and the dimmer switch. Unfortunately, screws and dowels for fixing are not included.
Afterwards the bracket on the back of the panel is loosened, which is fixed with four screws. Please mind that you should not unscrew the screws completely, this makes things a bit easier in the last step. Then simply lead the lamp cable through the bracket and screw the bracket to the ceiling.
After that it gets a bit tricky. As described in the instructions, you need two people and four hands to assemble the Philips Hue Aurelle. While one person holds the LED panel, the second person can slide the two lamp cables into the slots on the panel. Fortunately, a screwdriver is not required for this. Mounting the cables in the small guide clamp is basically not necessary.
In a final step you simply screw the panel back on the bracket (by means of the four screws). Last but not least you can switch on the light again and couple the lamp with your Hue system. You can read the serial number on the outside of the case.
A few minutes after the installation I can already conclude: the large model of the Philips Hue Aurelle is really bright with its 4,200 lumens. Moreover, it offers a very consistent and smooth illumination.

Hi, just wanted to mention that today my Aurelle from the new Philips production run arrived (new packaging, V2 dimmer) and the panel now also contains the 2 hooks for easy installation (just like the Surimu).
