It's been almost a year since I introduced you to the unofficial Friends of Hue switch from Sunricher. The Asians have created a module that looks confusingly similar to the familiar and official EnOcean module. And they still stand by their statement that Philips Hue cannot exclude these not-quite-official switches, which are powered by a coin cell, from the Hue Bridge.
Installing a ceiling light or wall light can sometimes be a real challenge without a helping hand. I certainly wouldn't like to imagine having to screw a light like the Philips Hue Aurelle to the ceiling on my own. But in the meantime, as we all know, there is an improvement in sight: the Philips Hue Centris is already designed in such a way that it can be mounted without a helper easily.
With the new Philips Hue Amarant, Signify's popular and practical low-voltage system received a great new addition in January and there are probably one or two users who are currently planning their 2021 garden. Since today you can order the new Philips Hue dimmer switch, with the availability in Germany it still looks bad. While users in France or Belgium were partly already delivered, I'm still waiting for my order. I tried it via the Proshop, here the new dimmer switches should be shipped from Wednesday.
The new Philips Hue wall switch module, which will be available in Europe in the spring and in the USA in the summer, has been the subject of much discussion over the past two weeks. Already yesterday I wrote about the Violet SmartSwitch on our German Apple blog. But I think the smart light switch with color display and touchscreen is so interesting that I would like to write a few lines about it here as well. Just as a little preview, before I will look at the accessories myself in the next few weeks.
