Just one week after the major update to version 5.8, with which Philips Hue has given the wall switch module, among other things, a major upgrade, the next update is already available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The update to version 5.9 is a little smaller and mainly deals with the Hue Tap Dial Switch.
“With the Tap Dial Switch, you can now choose what you want to do when you press and hold one of the four buttons: nothing, switch off the selected rooms/zones or the entire house,” says the update description.
The Hue Tap Dial Switch is a recommendation
The Hue Tap Dial Switch is probably the most versatile switch that Philips Hue currently has in its portfolio. There are four buttons that can be pressed and held, as well as a rotary dial that can be used to dim the light in the room or zone of your choice. The Hue Tap Dial Switch is also available in black or white and with a small or large holder.
We use it in our home on the bedside table, for example, so that we can simply “turn on” the night light at night. This works wonderfully and prevents us from pressing the wrong button when we are half asleep.
