Once again, it’s time to take a look at the App Store. Because there are two updates available for our favourite smart lighting system. In addition to the official Philips Hue app, the third-party application iConnectHue has also been updated, with which you can configure your lamps and accessories even more professionally.
iConnectHue is now available for download in version 5.0.3 for iPhone and iPad and brings an interesting innovation in addition to some small changes. The description says: “Support for the new animations added.” However, this requires a basic membership or the 2023 upgrade.
I already reported on the effects last week. Among other things, there is a new colour loop where the colour of the lights changes throughout. In contrast to the colour loop from Hue Labs, several colours are displayed simultaneously on gradient lights. The other two effects are probably exclusive to the Festavia light chain, but require firmware that is not yet publicly available. So a little patience is still required here.
Mini update for Philips Hue
There are no real innovations at Philips Hue, here version 4.49 was released yesterday in the App Store. “Various bug fixes and stability improvements”, is what the App Store cautiously says.
But don’t worry: The big news and thus probably also big measures in the Hue app are expected for September – somehow the new camera functions have to be integrated.
