Actually, it was supposed to be ready in spring, but in the end it took a little longer than planned. In the context of the IFA announcement, Philips Hue has now announced that the Matter update for the Hue Bridge, which was promised last year, will be rolled out in September.
Just over a month ago, Philips Hue introduced the Centris, its first ceiling spotlight. And rarely have opinions on a Hue product diverged as widely as on this new release. Some Hue users were immediately fascinated, others were put off by the price and still others found the design simply ugly.
About two weeks ago I already presented one of the four Centris models to you in a small video. Now I had the opportunity to assemble the smallest version myself. The ceiling light from the White and Color Ambiance series offers two GU10 spots with 350 lumens each and an additional LED module with 840 lumens and costs almost 280 Euros.
The new Philips Hue Centris, which is available in a total of four different configurations from €279.99 to €449.99, has already been properly discussed. One thing is clear: Optically, the mixture of spots and fixed LED module is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Whether you like one of the four models or not, I can't judge at this point.
If you read this diligently, you could find out about most of the new products in advance. Now the new and updated products are official and can be purchased immediately. Finally. A new version of the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, the most popular product in the Hue range, is now available.
