Philips Hue 5.2: Camera support and two more Halloween scenes

Update in the App Store

Just in time for the launch of the Philips Hue Secure cameras, mine made its way yesterday evening, the manufacturer has released another update for its app. From now on you can download Philips Hue version 5.2 from the App Store or Google Play Store.

You can count the new stuff on two or three fingers this time. First of all, Philips Hue has added support for the new Hue Secure cameras, which go on sale this week.

In addition, there are two more Halloween scenes that you can now find in the Hue Light Scenes Gallery. The six Halloween scenes known from last year were already reactivated there last week.

From now on, you can also create spooky moments with the scenes “Toil and Trouble” and “Hocus Pocus”. In total, there are now eight Halloween scenes in the Hue app.

  1. Does anybody know why the hue play light bars are not working in the hocus pocus mode? The colors are not changing, they stay the same and keep the standard preset colors.

  2. Is there anybody who saved the ‘Hocus Pocus’ scene? I really like it and have it in my Hue app, but now I have added a new gradient lightstrip. The lightstrip works, but the gradient part is nog recognized by the scene. It just shows as one color. With other scenes, the problem could be solved by re-selecting the scene from the gallery, but this one has disappeared. Apparently, these scenes only exist during Halloween…
