FabianThis could be a really exciting thing. According to information from the blog SamMobile, Samsung is working on a major update for its Internet of Things platform SmartThings. And this could also be really exciting for all Philips Hue users.
According to the blog, Samsung is working on support for Philips Hue Sync. This should make it possible to have the lights in the living room light up to match the content on the TV screen.
Until now, this was only possible with Philips TVs, such as those with Ambilight+Hue, or via the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, which has to be connected externally. If Samsung TVs were to receive such an integration, it would be something of a milestone.
Technically, such an integration should be possible without any problems, as Philips Hue provides the relevant APIs. These are already used by TP Vision, the manufacturer of Philips TVs.
