With the latest update to version 4.13 of the Philips Hue app, the Eindhoven-based manufacturer allows Bluetooth lamps to be paired directly in the “normal” Hue app for the first time. Soon it should also be possible to transfer your lamps paired with the Bluetooth app to the main app as well, to make the switch even easier for existing users.
But that is by no means all. As I was able to find out, work has also already started on integrating the Philips Hue Sync Box into the regular Hue app. Until now, you had to use the Sync app to install the HDMI box.
Sooner or later, this separate app will also be completely eliminated. This makes perfect sense, because until now it was a complete mess: the entertainment area required for the Sync Box could only be created in the Philips Hue app, but the Sync app was responsible for pairing and controlling the Sync Box. This is exactly what could work much easier in the future.
