A few weeks ago, my colleague Frederick installed the round Philips Hue Aurelle in his living room; the large rectangular model of the LED panel has been hanging in my kitchen since its introduction. There is no question that the Aurelle, which is bright up to 4,200 lumens, is a real perennial favourite.
In terms of colour space, however, the competition has much more to offer. Paulmann with the Amaris or Müller-Licht with its Tint Aris already offer LED panels in a very similar design that can handle colours as well as white tones.
At this point, it is certainly not necessarily a question of wanting the ceiling light in the kitchen to shine in purple, blue or green every day. As the past has shown, however, there are many other possible applications. For example, a Hueblog reader presented me with this great installation on the wall.
And at the latest, when the next birthday party can be a bit bigger again and you want to conjure up a nice mood light, a colourful Philips Hue Aurelle would certainly cut a very good figure. Considering that the Aurelle was already launched in 2018, it would certainly deserve an upgrade.
Although there have already been numerous leaks in recent weeks, however, nothing concrete is yet in sight. However, as I have learned from a reliable source, one or the other new ceiling light is still being planned. Will Philips Hue concentrate on new releases or will existing models be pimped? We will find out in September.
