Philips Hue gives energy saving tips for its smart bulbs

How easy it is to save electricity

Electricity costs have become a big issue in recent months. Many of us already have to pay more each month, which naturally raises the question of whether a gimmick like Philips Hue is even necessary?

Of course, you don't necessarily have to light up your garden just because it looks nice. On the other hand, a motion detector, for example, can help to ensure that the light in the cellar or storage room is not forgotten and stays on all night.

In addition, Philips Hue has shared a few energy-saving tips on its Instagram page that I don't want to deprive you of.

Three energy saving tips from Philips Hue

Blue as mood light: If you are cosy in the evening and use Philips Hue as mood light, try colours like blue or purple. With these colours, a Hue lamp consumes up to 79 percent less electricity.

Beautiful and economical: If you want a ready-made scene, you should activate the Arctic Aurora. With this scene, the energy requirement is reduced by up to 88 percent.

Dimming: A tip that can be implemented quite well in practice concerns the brightness. If you dim the lamps from 100 to 70 percent, it should still be bright enough in many cases. On the other hand, the energy consumption of the Hue lamps is reduced by up to 50 percent.

You are welcome to report in the comments where you see further savings potential in the use of smart lamps.
