The Hue Secure cameras were launched just over a year ago. A lot has happened since then, there have been numerous updates and Philips Hue has also lowered the prices of the various cameras. Until now, however, the Hue Secure cameras were trapped in the Hue app – this is now changing with the latest update to the application.
Philips Hue has been offering its Hue Secure cameras for just over a year. In the meantime, the story has really taken off, with numerous improvements via software updates in recent months. Support for Amazon Alexa and Google Home was also announced at the beginning of September. Now I can finally give you a concrete time frame.
The negative reports started piling up back in September, and there are already around 30 comments under one of my articles on the subject – and more are being added all the time. It’s about the link between Philips Hue and Amazon Alexa, which hasn’t been working properly for months.
Voice control with Alexa has actually always been a pretty reliable story. Apart from the fact that you can only pair a bridge with the Alexa Skill, of course, but that is hopefully something that will take care of itself with the upcoming Matter update. However, it is not yet time and in the social networks and also here in the comments I have been reading more and more complaints around the topic of Alexa and Philips Hue for about a week.
