At CES, Signify already introduced three new partners for the Friends of Hue program in January. While Voltus has already launched its switch and we from Insta are still waiting for news, we are now working on the third new partner. The switch manufacturer Jung wants to start with its Friends of Hue switches in August and will offer two different models, which of course only differ visually.
In June, Philips Hue presented several new products, including the new Hue Centris ceiling lamp and the new generation of Hue Bloom. After the new outdoor releases in January, the second batch followed relatively early – which leads me to believe that there could well be something in September or October.
Last month Philips Hue updated what is probably its most popular product: The LightStrip Plus. The new model now also works via Bluetooth, and cut-off parts can be reconnected with a connector. But this is not the only change. As I already found out, the connection between LightStrip and extension has changed as well.
After I moved a little more than two years ago and the distance from the sofa to the television set increased by about one and a half meters, I quickly realized: My previous 55 inch TV is simply too small. For years I have been using an Ambilight TV and have always been very satisfied – even if it was from the 2010 or 2011 model year and the connection to the Hue system was not really comfortable.
About two weeks ago I already presented one of the four Centris models to you in a small video. Now I had the opportunity to assemble the smallest version myself. The ceiling light from the White and Color Ambiance series offers two GU10 spots with 350 lumens each and an additional LED module with 840 lumens and costs almost 280 Euros.

The Dutch manufacturer Innr, which we now know very well, today presented three new versions of its LightStrip. The new LightStrip is available in two different lengths and can of course still be coupled and controlled via ZigBee with the Philips Hue Bridge. As usual with third-party products, we only have to do without Apple HomeKit and Hue Entertainment.
The new Philips Hue Centris, which is available in a total of four different configurations from €279.99 to €449.99, has already been properly discussed. One thing is clear: Optically, the mixture of spots and fixed LED module is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. Whether you like one of the four models or not, I can’t judge at this point.
