Philips Hue has unveiled new lightstrips for TVs. While the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip has been available in its current form since 2020, there are now two successors. The “standard” Play Gradient Lightstrip is based on the Hue Flux Lightstrip, while the Play Gradient Lightstrip Pro is a modified version of the Hue OmniGlow Lightstrip.
Over the past few weeks, quite a few leaks have surfaced, and overall, we can say that many of them turned out to be accurate. Only the Hue Go XXL and the kitchen lighting were not officially confirmed by Philips Hue today. In addition to the new hardware, we can also look forward to new software features, including the long-awaited “Backup & Restore.”

The specifications have appeared in the support section of the Philips Hue website and provide us with numerous insights even before the official launch. First off, the most exciting news: The Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip Pro actually uses OmniGlow technology, which we’re already familiar with from the Hue OmniGlow lightstrip.
It seems almost certain that Philips Hue will unveil new products this coming Thursday. Some details have already leaked, and most recently, a AMA session with Hue creator George Yianni was announced for this very Thursday. The control hubs are also already being prepared for the launch of the new products.
