FabianAfter pre-orders were already possible in the past weeks, another new Hue product has been launched this week: The Philips Hue Iris including the Limited Edition. Limited is definitely the right keyword here, because the four special colours are currently anything but easy to get.
Anyway, the limited special edition of the mood light is only sold at selected retailers. At Click-Licht.de, the delivery time for the exciting models in gold, copper and rose is currently indicated as around 10 weeks. So it could even be close if you plan to give the Limited Edition as a Christmas present.
And that is definitely an interesting option, because the packaging alone makes something special. In comparison to other Hue uniform mush, which I wouldn't call ugly either, the Limited Edition scores with an individually designed box made of much stronger cardboard. The design is kept in the respective special colour.
My original plan was to present you all four versions of the Limited Edition at once, but that won't happen in the near future. Therefore I want to at least use the opportunity that I could order the silver Hue Iris – in my eyes unfortunately the less exciting model – this week without any problems at Click-Licht.de.

The silver ring around the lamp is certainly striking here, which unfortunately is not made of brushed metal, but only of plastic. Another difference to the standard edition: the small cylinder inside the body is chrome-plated, which makes it look quite impressive.
On the models in gold, copper and rose, the transparent part of the lamp would also be tinted in the corresponding colour, in the silver version it is completely clear. But I like this better than the black Hue Iris, where the plastic is tinted noticeably.
If you want to make someone happy or give yourself a present with the Limited Edition, take a look on the Limited Edition. Which colour you choose is up to you, my favourites are in descending order: copper, rose, gold and silver. Unfortunately it also has its price: 119,99 Euro are charged. Don't forget that the Limited Edition is also due to disappear from the market sometime next year.
