Today, for a change, I’m not writing to you about a new Philips Hue product, but rather to share some information about the Hueblog app. Not much has happened with it in recent years, so now it’s time for a major update.
The app still works wonderfully on iPhone and iPad—it just looks a bit dated. The situation is quite different on Android, and I have to be completely honest: I’ve absolutely neglected this platform in recent years. A while back, the Android app was even removed from the store. I’m just more at home in the Apple world.
But that’s about to change. I’ve teamed up with a new developer who’s going to give the Hueblog app a major overhaul. The update will be released later this year in the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, as well as in the Google Play Store for Android devices. And of course, it will remain free, since the app’s core concept won’t change.
There’s one wish I’ll be fulfilling for myself: The Hueblog app is going global. Content from Hueblog.com will also be accessible through the app. This is especially interesting for international readers who aren’t from Germany.
What wishes and ideas do you have for the Hueblog app?
Partly for budgetary reasons—the costs are already in the mid-four-digit range—we certainly won’t be able to fulfill every wish. Nevertheless, we’d like to take this opportunity to ask:
- What feature absolutely must be included in the Hueblog app?
- Where would you like to see changes or adjustments?
- What unique ideas do you have that we haven’t thought of?
Feel free to leave a comment below this article, or alternatively, use our email address or the contact form on the website. We’re really looking forward to your feedback! As the release of the new version gets closer, we’ll definitely give you a chance to test it out.
