A little patience is still needed until Philips Hue officially presents its new products on 1st September. I have already given you a small preview of some of the new products this week. More products are still expected, although some of them will only be available in October. Of course, the launch of the Gradient products is particularly exciting.
I have already mentioned it several times in the past: Many of you miss the widgets. With the launch of the new Philips Hue app they were banned from iPhone and iPad, as an alternative you are supposed to use Siri shortcuts. For many Hue fans, this is not a satisfying alternative.

In addition to the criticism around the widgets, one thing can be read again and again in reviews and comments around the new Philips Hue app: users would like to see the timer function back. Shortly after the launch of the new app, already more than one and a half months ago, Philips Hue promised to bring back the functionality with a future update.
Even though I personally find the foundation that Philips Hue has laid with the new app quite appealing, overall I still find a lot missing in the current version. In particular, I think the tile view and the constant switching from one bridge to another are extremely annoying. Of course, there are some apps that offer multi-bridge functionality, especially iConnectHue or Hue Essentials.
Since Thursday, the new Philips Hue app is available for iOS and Android. And there is one major criticism, especially among iPhone and iPad users: the previously available Today view widgets have been completely removed from the new Hue app. Why Signify had no other choice, I’ll explain in this article.
About a month ago, the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module was launched and now the corresponding update for iConnectHue (App Store-Link) is finally available. The app for iPhone and iPad is one of the best tools when it comes to configuring the Hue system. And of course it offers more possibilities around the new wall switch module than the regular Philips Hue app does.

Since the weekend, the third-party app Hue Essentials offers initial support for the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module. The industrious developer Stefan Göhler has once again released a new update for his popular app iConnectHue.
