FabianIt’s that time of year again. After my appgefahren colleague Frederick and I enjoyed ourselves so much at last year’s CES in Las Vegas, we’re back again this year. And for the first time in several years, Philips Hue is also returning to the gaming metropolis.
On Tuesday afternoon, which is already Wednesday night in Europe, a small media event will take place away from the trade fair. I’m really excited to see what’s in store. After the XXL event in Berlin last September, I don’t expect any new hardware; it will probably be more about the Hue app and new features. We already got a little taste of what’s to come with the new “Segmented” gradient mode.
The trip to Las Vegas was pretty relaxed this time. I’m writing this on the Aer Lingus flight. On Saturday morning, I flew from Düsseldorf to Dublin, where I was able to enter the US. In the afternoon, I flew directly to Las Vegas, and everything went wonderfully.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go so smoothly for some of my fellow bloggers. Those who flew before me encountered thick fog in Las Vegas and some of them were diverted to Los Angeles. And then winter struck: flights were canceled in Hamburg and connections were missed in Amsterdam. Things didn’t go smoothly for Frederick either; his original flight was canceled – fortunately, he was rebooked onto an alternative flight on the same day and even arrived in Las Vegas earlier than planned.
There will also be a video from Las Vegas later this week. I would like to introduce you to the new features of Philips Hue and will be looking around the trade fair for other smart lighting products. Let’s see what the competition has brought to the desert.
If you don’t hear from me in the next few days, I’ve probably won at the casino and am enjoying my early retirement…
Wünsche für 2026:
Es wäre wichtig das mal was an der App gemacht wird.
Da hab ich so einige Ideen:
Überarbeitete Music Synchronisation:
Einmal sollte es im Hintergrund laufen können, und nicht nur mit Spotify kompatibel sein, sondern auch mit YouTube Music und anderen Musik Apps.
Das eigentliche Music Sync sollte man auch mal komplett überarbeiten, vielleicht mit KI Erkennung? Es ist aktuell jedenfalls nicht besonderes gut.
Verbesserung beim Ambilight:
Das Ambilight sowohl für Fernseher als auch Monitor ist richtig gut. Aber es wäre wünschenswert wenn es eine Option gäbe das, das Licht bei Dunkelheit im Film/Video auch komplett dunkel wird, und nicht weiß anzeigt, so wie es aktuell ist.
Neue Automatisierungen:
Es gibt dort so viele Dinge die fehlen.
Alein schon das man das Licht z.B. per Automatisierung einschaltet, und es nach 3 Minuten wieder ausgeht.
Also mehrere Automatisierungen Hintereinander.
Mehr Effekte:
Zum einen eine größere Anzahl an Effekten, vorallem für Gradient Produkte.
Aber das wichtigere wäre Lampen übergreifende Effekte, die man auch zum einschalten benutzen kann:
z.B. Lauflicht bei dem man die Reihenfolge selbst bestimmen kann.
Oder einfach auch Hochdimmen der Lampen innerhalb von kurzer Zeit.
Mir würde da noch viel mehr einfallen… 😄
