To start the new week, here is another small update from the overcast week. Shortly after the update to version 4.16 of the Hue app, another new version was released: Philips Hue 4.16.1. With this small bugfix update, a new feature seems to have been unlocked in the Discover section – a demo mode.
Yesterday evening Philips Hue released another update of its official app, the update description reads more than sober: “Bug fixes and performance improvements”, it says in the App Store. But beyond that, there are some new things to discover. There are some new scenes – and finally a flamingo in the Hue app.
Just under a fortnight ago, Philips Hue announced that two new effects would be making their way into the Hue app by the end of March: A candle flicker and a fireplace effect. These two effects are available more quickly with the popular iConnectHue app. The developer Stefan Göhler is providing a corresponding update with immediate effect.
At the end of last week, Philips Hue released another update in the App Store. However, it turned out to be somewhat smaller than I had initially assumed. In version 4.11 we can at least look forward to a few new scenes. The Philips Hue development team describes the new scenes as follows.
A few days later than I expected, but still in time for Christmas, Philips Hue has received another update. Among other things, version 4.10 brings seven colourful and Christmassy scenes, which you can now find in the Hue light scenes gallery. Also new is an option for Spotify integration. The developer team writes in the update description: “The new Style setting in the Sync tab makes your Philips Hue + Spotify even more customizable.
The development team of the Philips Hue app is currently preparing the next update. It is expected that version 4.10 of the Hue app will be released in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as early as next week. I can already tell you what new features the update will bring.
As already announced last week, Philips Hue has introduced an exciting innovation around the dynamic scenes with the now released update to version 4.8 of the official app. From now on, the speed of these scenes can be adjusted. The special feature here is that each dynamic scene from the Hue Light Scene Gallery comes with its own default setting, so that the speed of the colour changes matches the mood of the scene.
For a little more than a month now, Philips Hue has been offering the possibility to freely select three colours for gradient products and to create automatically generated colour gradients based on this. Later, depending on the product, it will be possible to select even more colours, at least according to Hue inventor George Yianni.
Since today, version 4.7 of the Philips Hue app is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. As already announced by me, the dynamic scenes learn a lot with the update and work not only with the preset scenes, but also with self-created ones. Of course, this offers even more possibilities, even if the setting for adjusting the speed has unfortunately not yet been made available with this update.
For most of you it is already an old shoe, because the function was already unlocked last week. Now, however, Philips Hue has once again done some fine-tuning and officially introduced the new gradient functions for great colour gradients. With the update to version 4.5.0 released yesterday, the Hue app has officially been made ready for the new gradient functions, which I have already shown you in a short video here.
