If you are planning to buy a Philips Hue ceiling light for the bathroom in the coming weeks or months, I can only give you one piece of advice: Go for the new lamps. You’ll pay a few euros more, but you’ll also get a lot more light. Today I would like to give you a small overview.

A while ago, I introduced you to the Philips Hue Xamento, the first “colourful” bathroom light from Philips Hue. With a price of up to 259.99 euros, it is certainly not a cheap affair. Today, in cooperation with Click-Licht.de, I would like to introduce you to another new ceiling light for the bathroom, which is aimed at all those who can manage with white light tones in the shower or when brushing their teeth.
It should be common knowledge by now that Philips Hue does not necessarily offer the cheapest products. This is quite understandable, after all, quality and performance are in many cases better than with cheaper alternatives. Moreover, one has to consider that Philips Hue, in contrast to some other manufacturers, also takes care of software development.
Last week, a reader brought the Dutch manufacturer EcoDim to my attention. Located just over the German border, EcoDim unfortunately does not yet offer its products in Germany, but our friends from Holland were kind enough to provide me with a set of their filament lamps with ZigBee. The lamps with E27 bases all have White Ambiance technology, the colour temperature can be adjusted from 1,800 to 5,000 Kelvin.
After the major update of the Hue app in early summer, which was not immediately well received by all users, the Philips Hue development team provided us with numerous exciting updates in the second half of the year. Especially the dynamic scenes and the gradient function are worth mentioning here. However, we have been waiting in vain for one function so far: natural light.
A few weeks ago, Philips Hue slightly revised its indoor motion sensor. Now the outdoor sensor has also been updated. I don’t necessarily want to talk about a new generation here, but rather a small revision. What are the changes? The new sensor with the EAN 8719514342262 and the model number 929003067401 comes to you in a new packaging.
After the successful installation last year, I would like to give you a few impressions of the Philips Hue Enrave ceiling light today. It comes as a classic White Ambiance product with a dimmer switch and is one of the new releases from last autumn. Philips Hue had promised the sales launch at the end of the year and also kept it – although some models of the Enrave are still quite poorly available.
