There are some interesting developments around the portable table lamp Philips Hue Go. Only last week, Amazon and Galaxus listed the new model, which is officially supposed to be released in late summer, and allowed pre-orders. However, delivery is unlikely to happen that quickly.
As I have learned from several retailers, the new Philips Hue Go portable table lamp will not be launched until January 2023. So it won’t be late summer, as announced. Has Philips Hue possibly miscalculated?
Signify wants to bring a special edition of the Hue Go onto the market
However, it is also imaginable that Philips Hue will keep its promise of “late summer”. This is because the Hue Go table lamp will also be available in a Special Edition, which will be sold exclusively in the Hue Shop.
Technically, there are no differences in this Special Edition. Only the grip, which by the way can also be removed, will differ in colour. The black model has an orange handle, the white Hue Go has a much smaller colour difference, the handle of the Special Edition is mint green. Here you can find pictures of the “normal” version.
It is quite conceivable that Philips Hue will launch the Special Edition in late summer and deliver it to retailers later, similar to what happened with the Hue Wall Switch Module. As soon as I have official information on this, I will get back to you.
