A few weeks ago, I was able to announce them – now they are available on Amazon. The new Innr vintage edition filament lamps. The Dutch manufacturer has already launched a “golden” lamp in standard shape in August, now they are expanding their assortment with two more lamps in Edison and Globe shapes.
Earlier this month, I discovered that Signify is working on a new Philips Hue LightStrip. It’ll definitely get Bluetooth – but what else? Of course the manufacturer did not comment on this, so I asked you last week: what should a new LightStrip be able to do in any case?
One thing is as certain: standard Philips Hue lamps, no matter whether with E14 or E27 base, will certainly not win a beauty prize. After all, filament lamps have been available in stores since September 2019 which are visually very convincing thanks to their twisted filaments. Unfortunately, the filament lamps are only Hue Whites, which cannot display different colour temperatures.
Shortly after Christmas we introduced the SM216, the new adapter from Samotech for the Hue Smart Button. In the comments to the article some users remarked that solutions for 2 or 3 frames would be a practical thing, too. Of course the British manufacturer has something like this in stock: the brand-new SM222.
Last year in August, the Dutch brand Innr was the first manufacturer to launch filament lamps with ZigBee connection. In September, Philips Hue followed suit with three filament lamps of its own, and now Innr is back at the helm.
Yesterday, Signify introduced several new outdoor products at CES in Las Vegas. There are some very interesting new releases such as the Appear and Resonate wall lights with their up- and downward beams. But also the popular “plug-and-play” portfolio has been expanded by two low-voltage lights: Lily XL and the Impress wall light.
Yesterday evening Philips Hue presented its outdoor series for 2020. And I have to say: there is definitely something in it that pleases. Surely it always depends on personal taste but I like the new Lily XL and the Impress wall lamp with cable. And that's exactly the right keyword.
Last year, Philips introduced Hue zones in the Hue app. This made it possible to either combine several rooms or group individual lamps within a room. Until now, the zones were a beta feature but this will change with the update to version 3.4.0 of the Hue app.
Actually, this should have been the case by the end of 2019, but finally there is a highly official announcement and probably an update soon: the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box finally gets further improvements. First and foremost concern is the connection to infrared remote controls.
A few weeks ago we already had a first look, today Philips Hue officially presented its innovations for spring 2020 at CES.
