The Dutch manufacturer Innr, which we now know very well, today presented three new versions of its LightStrip. The new LightStrip is available in two different lengths and can of course still be coupled and controlled via ZigBee with the Philips Hue Bridge. As usual with third-party products, we only have to do without Apple HomeKit and Hue Entertainment.
For more than two years now, Philips Hue has been offering its low voltage system for outdoor use. Starting with Lily and Calla, there is now a whole range of products that can be connected together. The Philips Hue Outdoor LightStrip or the brighter Lily XL are very popular, too. Up to now there was only one outdoor power supply with a maximum output of 40 watts, at least that is what Philips Hue says.
The new Philips Hue Centris, which is available in a total of four different configurations from €279.99 to €449.99, has already been properly discussed. One thing is clear: Optically, the mixture of spots and fixed LED module is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea. Whether you like one of the four models or not, I can’t judge at this point.
I already shared the first interesting detail about the new fourth generation Philips Hue LightStrip Plus with you yesterday: Due to much more compact connection pins the new LightStrip cannot be extended with old extensions – and vice versa. Today I would like to take a look at a new feature of the LightStrip together with you: The included connector.
One question has reached me several times in the past two weeks and today I finally have the chance to go into the details: Is the new LightStrip Plus compatible with the old model? I can make it short and sweet at this point: Unfortunately not. This fact is interesting in some situations, for example if you want to extend a LightStrip with an extension.
With a new version of Philips Hue White, we are now supplied with up to 1,600 lumens of brightness, which is about twice as much as previous E27 lamps from Philips Hue have achieved. The Hue White provides 15.5 watts of LED power, which corresponds to a classic 100-watt light bulb.
Already announced some time ago, I have now finally been able to try them out myself: The new fourth generation Philips Hue Bloom. After LivingColors and Friends of Hue, the mood light has now really arrived in the Hue world and offers Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the familiar ZigBee connection via the Hue Bridge.
If you read this diligently, you could find out about most of the new products in advance. Now the new and updated products are official and can be purchased immediately. Finally. A new version of the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, the most popular product in the Hue range, is now available.
Everyone needs a hobby. On Facebook, Hue fan Sam showed me that smart lighting and classic building blocks can be combined perfectly. When I saw his pictures of the big Millennium Falcon from the Lego Star Wars series, I was just blown away.
I am always amazed at the creative ideas the community comes up with. At the weekend, Hueblog reader Klaus from Munich impressed me with a really clean installation, which focuses on the Philips Hue Outdoor LightStrip and a trash can box.
