Earlier this month, Philips Hue unveiled two new light strips for TVs: the Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip (buy now), based on the Flux light strip, and the Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip Pro (buy now), based on the OmniGlow light strip. I’ve already taken a look at the Pro version and tested it on my TV.
Following the launch of the more affordable table and floor lamps from the Play series, Philips Hue introduced three new additions to the Signe family in early September. The table and floor lamps in this series have been with us for several years now. Joining the lineup are a light pole that leans against the wall, a ceiling light, and a hanging light.
Apparently, they couldn’t quite agree on a name. On the packaging, this little gadget is called the “Philips Hue Wall Light Module,” while on Amazon it’s listed as the “Philips Hue Wall Light Controller.” And then there’s also the name “Hue x Nanoleaf Controller” floating around. I think the latter provides the most accurate description of the new product.
It could have been so great this month at Philips Hue: lots of new products, plus a “Glow-Up Sale” in their online store. But some things just weren’t made a big deal of. Like a secret price hike on many products that hit the market in 2025. The Hue Bridge Pro in Europe is particularly affected.
Philips Hue unveiled several new products in early September, and I’ll be introducing (almost) all of them to you over the coming weeks. We’ll start with the Hue Liane 360° Rope Light, which is available in three different versions in the Philips Hue online store: 3 meters, 3 meters with a weight, and 5 meters.
If someone had told me a year ago that Philips Hue and Nanoleaf would be teaming up, I probably would have thought they were crazy. Since the beginning of the month, the Philips Hue Wall Light Control Module—or, in short, the “Hue x Nanoleaf Controller”—has been available, allowing Nanoleaf Shapes to be integrated into the Hue app.

Philips Hue has unveiled new lightstrips for TVs. While the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip has been available in its current form since 2020, there are now two successors. The “standard” Play Gradient Lightstrip is based on the Hue Flux Lightstrip, while the Play Gradient Lightstrip Pro is a modified version of the Hue OmniGlow Lightstrip.
People have been asking for this feature for years, and now it’s almost here. Even though there isn’t a specific launch date yet, Philips Hue has officially unveiled the “Backup & Restore” feature. According to Hue creator George Yianni, it’s set to launch in the coming months. However, there are some important details you absolutely need to know.
Over the past few weeks, quite a few leaks have surfaced, and overall, we can say that many of them turned out to be accurate. Only the Hue Go XXL and the kitchen lighting were not officially confirmed by Philips Hue today. In addition to the new hardware, we can also look forward to new software features, including the long-awaited “Backup & Restore.”
