We still have to wait about a month, then Philips Hue will officially announce the Gradient Lightstrip Ambiance. Until now, not much more was known than a single image, but today I can give you the first technical details. For example, the light strip, which is equipped with IP20 protection, will be slightly brighter than the normal Lightstrip Plus, which we already known for years.
With the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, our favourite manufacturer launched an exciting new product two years ago, which was supplemented last autumn by the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip. The perfect combination to be able to offer something like Ambilight on any TV with external sources. There is only one problem with the whole thing: the “Hue Ambilight” is only three-sided.
In the course of the week, I was able to introduce you to an exciting new release that Philips Hue actually wanted to present in September: The new Gradient Lightstrip Ambiance, a multi-coloured upgrade for the well-known Lightstrip. But that will not be all, because another Gradient product is now announced.
When I asked you at the beginning of 2020 what a new light strip should be able to do, over 40 percent of you answered that it should be able to display several colours at the same time. In the meantime, the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is on the market, but it is specially designed to be mounted behind a TV.
It should only be about a month and a half until Philips Hue presents its new products. Usually, the International Funkausstellung in Berlin has been the usual time in the past years. This is supported by the fact that Philips Hue will also participate in this year’s digital keynote of the Smart Home League, which will take place on 2 September.
Motion sensors are a really great thing. They can automatically switch on the light depending on the brightness and time of day when you move through the room. In my home, I have activated a motion sensor in the stairwell that activates a night light for 30 seconds at night, for example.
A few weeks ago, Hueblog reader Johan from Sweden was kind enough not only to inform me about the launch of the new filament lamps from Ikea, but also to get me the novelties when they were not yet available in Germany. Unfortunately, it took a little longer than planned with the postal delivery and in the meantime I was able to find out that Philips Hue will launch its first E14 filament in autumn.

A visit to Ikea is worth it twice this month. Next week there will be a new Sonos speaker and four new light bulbs from the Trådfri series are already available. Today I would like to take a look at the new ZigBee lamps with frosted glass. In my opinion, these are a real eye-catcher.
