Hue Flux: Connectors and accessories are still pending

For the new Lightstrip series

Note: Article contains affiliate links. What’s that?

The new Hue Flux Lightstrip has been available since mid-September and performed very well in my initial hands-on. The ultra-bright version of the Hue Flux Lightstrip is set to launch shortly. It has a maximum brightness of 6,000 lumens. It can produce almost 1,000 lumens per meter. No Philips Hue light strip has ever been this bright.

Philips Hue will also offer five accessory products for the entire Flux series. Even though the Hue Flux Lightstrip got an early start and has been available for some time, the accessories are not yet available. Unfortunately, there is no specific launch date yet. Nevertheless, I would like to give you an initial overview.

Hue Flux Gradient Lightstrip brackets

For €11.99, you get ten transparent brackets for screwing in place. This should be particularly useful if the light strip is to be mounted where the adhesive does not stick well.

Hue Flux Gradient Lightstrip Corner Connector

The Flux Lightstrip can be cut at every 16.6 centimeters at a marked point. The corner connector can then be used to create 90-degree corners. For €19.99, you get four 90-degree angles.

Hue Flux Gradient Lightstrip Flex Connector

If you want to bridge gaps, you can do so with the 50-centimeter-long flex connector. This could be useful for attaching a light strip under several shelves. Four connectors will be available for €29.99.

Hue Flux Gradient Lightstrip Connector

To connect cut pieces and create Flux light strips up to 20 meters long, there will be four simple connectors available for €14.99. However, no “loose” light strip extensions will be sold. If you want to extend your Flux Lightstrip later, you will have to buy another complete light strip.

Hue Flux Gradient Lightstrip extension cable

To extend the distance between the power supply and the controller, a 5-meter extension cable will be available. It appears to be identical to the Hue Play extension cable, but in white instead of black.

Until now, you had to resort to third-party products for light strip accessories, which were anything but cheap. Now Philips Hue is getting involved and making the Flux even more flexible. As soon as the accessories are available, you’ll find out about it on the Hueblog.

Use the Flux strip light behind TV cabinets, around bed corners and along bookcases to add soft, indirect light to match any mood.
