Comprehensive app for iPhone and iPad

Note: Article contains affiliate links. What’s that?

If you’re on the go with an iPhone or iPad and want to get even more out of your Hue installation, there’s really only one answer in the App Store: iConnectHue. The app from German developer Stefan Göhler is available today at half price. Instead of $5.99, the app currently costs only $2.99.

When you purchase the app, you get all the basic features of iConnectHue as well as the 2025 upgrade. This gives you significantly more options than with the official Hue app, especially when it comes to configuring switches and accessories. You can simply set up a lot more things than is actually possible with Philips Hue.

Here’s a small example that I’d like to explain in more detail later this week: With the Hue app, it’s not possible to turn on a lamp with the touch of a button and have it turn off automatically after a preset time. With iConnectHue, that’s no problem.

Additional basic and pro membership in iConnecHue

In addition, iConnectHue offers a basic membership and a pro membership, which I find quite confusing. At least for the first year, you also get a 50 percent discount today. An overview of the packages and features is available directly on the iConnectHue website.

One Pro feature that I have already used regularly is the lamp migration wizard. This allows you to replace a lamp with an equivalent or better lamp – including all settings, scenes, automations, and switch assignments. This really saves a lot of time.

The $2.99 for the app itself is definitely money well spent if you have a few switches and sensors in use at home. With iConnectHue and the right configuration, they’ll be even better.

Over the last few years, I've become a real expert when it comes to Hue & HomeKit. I now have over 50 lamps and numerous switches in use. I'm happy to share my experiences with you in my little blog.
