Even though Philips Hue has integrated several new functions into its app in recent months, not all of the possibilities offered by the system are utilised by any means. For extensive installations, especially in combination with switches and sensors, I therefore recommend taking a look at iConnectHue. You can currently get the app for iPhone and iPad for less – and that's actually relatively rare.
Earlier this week I was able to report that Hue Essentials is now also available for download in the Mac App Store. However, the new app wouldn't start on our Macs – and we had no idea why. In the meantime, the developers from the Netherlands have found the error and fixed it: It was due to older versions of macOS.
