My colleague Frederick and many other Hue users in Europe have had it hanging above their dining table for several years now. We’re talking about the Philips Hue Ensis, because the pendant light is perfect for this task. The Ensis is now also available in North America. At $479.99, the price is not necessarily low, but it’s worth it.
This summer, Philips Hue launched two new ceiling lights on the market. The first is the premium model, the Philips Hue Datura, with two separately controllable light sources. The round ceiling light is currently available in two sizes. This was followed shortly afterwards by the Philips Hue Tento in various round versions, where the manufacturer’s focus is on the comparatively low price.
After Aurelle and Surimu, Philips Hue presented two more LED panels for the ceiling in June: Hue Tento and Hue Datura. I already shared a few words with you yesterday about the affordable Tento series, which will be available soon. Today we want to take a detailed look at the Philips Hue Datura, which I have already been able to install in my home.
Have you already complained about the price of the Hue Aurelle? You thought that the Hue Surimu was the end of the line? Then you were wrong. This week, Philips Hue has introduced another ceiling light that goes one better. The reder is the Philips Hue Datura. While you can get the largest and most expensive Hue Aurelle with White Ambiance technology including Hue dimmer switch for “only” 239.99 euros, the Hue Surimu in the same size, but with coloured light and without a switch, costs 329.99 euros.
