I announced it quite a while ago, now it is finally available in the App Store and also in the Google Play Store. The latest update for the Philips Hue app, which at least fixes a few small things. In the new version of the app, you can finally dim lamps directly in the room view again – to do this, you simply hold your finger down on a switched-on lamp for a long time and can then move your finger up or down to adjust the brightness.
Even though I personally find the foundation that Philips Hue has laid with the new app quite appealing, overall I still find a lot missing in the current version. In particular, I think the tile view and the constant switching from one bridge to another are extremely annoying. Of course, there are some apps that offer multi-bridge functionality, especially iConnectHue or Hue Essentials.
A few weeks ago, Hueblog reader Johan from Sweden was kind enough not only to inform me about the launch of the new filament lamps from Ikea, but also to get me the novelties when they were not yet available in Germany. Unfortunately, it took a little longer than planned with the postal delivery and in the meantime I was able to find out that Philips Hue will launch its first E14 filament in autumn.

Signify has had to take some criticism around the major update of the Hue app. In particular, the omission of widgets and timers has not gone down particularly well with the community. But also in some other places, more clicks have recently become necessary than it was the case in the old app.
On Thursday I was able to give you a first preview: In autumn, Philips Hue will make its lamps a whole lot brighter. The sixth generation of the standard light bulb will then offer up to 1,100 lumens, previously 806 lumens were possible. There will also be an even brighter bulb with an E27 base that will offer up to 1,600 lumens.

We still have to be patient for about two months until Philips Hue will officially present its new products.
