With the launch of the new Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip, the manufacturer has already announced its intention to enable colour control of the seven zones of the lightstrip via the Hue app with a future software update. But it is precisely here that the new release reveals its biggest weakness: as a Hue White model, it offers only a fixed colour temperature.
Watch out! Some Philips Hue outdoor power supplies may be defective and pose a safety hazard. Signify has therefore started a replacement program to replace affected models.
