We still have to wait about a month until the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module finally hits the market. With the small accessory, you will be able to turn classic light switches into Hue light switches in order to be able to switch Philips Hue light bulbs supplied with permanent power.
It’s been almost a year since I introduced you to the unofficial Friends of Hue switch from Sunricher. The Asians have created a module that looks confusingly similar to the familiar and official EnOcean module. And they still stand by their statement that Philips Hue cannot exclude these not-quite-official switches, which are powered by a coin cell, from the Hue Bridge.
Installing a ceiling light or wall light can sometimes be a real challenge without a helping hand. The new standard, which is backed by Apple, Amazon and Google, among others, is intended to make our smart homes even better in the coming years.
On Thursday, Philips Hue introduced the new wall switch module. An announcement I was very excited about – and not just since a few days. After all, I have been following the development of the module for some time now, even though I have never been able to hold it in my hands myself.

Until now, there has been one big enemy of smart lighting: The classic light switch. A problem we all know. Because if the power supply of the Philips Hue lamps is disconnected via the light switch, control via the Hue app is no longer possible, routines do not work and voice assistants also no longer have a chance.
